Musica in Villa - Concerts and Visits at Villa Argentina

The historic Art Nouveau building reopens its doors to classical music on summer Saturday afternoons with an initiative - entitled "Musica in Villa" - which intertwines the freshness of young music talents with the history of a beautiful publicly owned home. Concerts are held at 6pm; followed by a guided tour of the Villa.

The students of the "Mascagni" of Livorno will play in the appointment on Saturday 25 June with a trio consisting of piano, flute and clarinet with pages by Camille Saint-Saëns and Filippo Bruno.

The program for the month of July, which will begin on Saturday 2, foresees the students of the “Boccherini” Conservatory with a recital of music by Debussy and Grieg. A trio of students from the "Mascagni" of Livorno will instead be the protagonist of the afternoon of Saturday 9 with music by Turina and Clara Schumann; while on the following Saturday 16 July another trio will be the protagonist, this time of students from the “Cherubini” Conservatory of Florence, which will perform pages by Rimskij-Korsakov and Beethoven. On 23 July, space for the students of the "Franci" Institute of Siena with a duo consisting of a pianist and a violin, on the occasion dedicated to music by César Franck. On Saturday 30 July the students of the "Boccherini" of Lucca return to Villa Argentina once again with a guitar and flute duo with music by Piazzolla and Castelnuovo-Tedesco.

On the other hand, the afternoon of Saturday 3rd September will be totally dedicated to the accordion with Davide Iadicicco, student of the “Cherubini” Conservatory of Florence who will propose a diversified program with music by Bach and Sciarrino, Olczak, Rameau and Scarlatti. Finally, the last concert will be held on Saturday 10 September with the piano recital by Benedetta Morelli of the "Boccherini" of Lucca dedicated to Spanish piano literature (Albéniz and Granados).
